I was invited to a 'Singles'/Chinese New Year Party on Valentines day (which just happened to be on a Lunar New Year), hosted by our lovely host and my new friend, Gerald Aw. As I was lazing around of what seems to be a room full of singletons (or not) I just could not help but realise that I have been single for more than a year, added to the fact that I have had only celebrated Valentines day once in my 'I’m-usually-single-when-I’m-not-dating-freaks' life. Had I not searched hard enough to actually find someone to date, long enough to at least last till the next Valentines? (Yeah I know. I sound really romantic right about now).
With the odds of finding love already against us, added to that (with reference to my
previous post) ’We’ can't exactly express our interests on a 'love at first sight' encounter on the streets, freely, without having the SLIGHTEST worry of the possibility of being bludgeoned to death, should the person of ‘interest’ turn out to be a
homophobe on a witch hunt. With more and more people working longer hours to make ends meet (or to spend it on exorbitantly priced skincare products) who REALLY has time to date? Most importantly, apart from online dating services (an appropriate time to give a shout-out to
Fridae,
Trevvy and
F*REEOOW*
Race, HOLLER!) that seems to have taken over the dating world by storm, how and what does one need to do to gain an advantage and stand out from the masses?
Well, in the spirit of being-along-again for Valentines day (and to celebrate our willingness to be exploited and our ongoing compliance in allowing others to continuously capitalise on something as priceless as being in love) I bring to you my latest creation.
