Yay! The boys are moving to Melbourne!

View Comments

As you might (or might not) know, I'm an artist and I had a solo exhibition last year. Robert got to know of it after reading my interview on Fridae.com, came over during the opening reception and bought one of my favourite paintings that I have painted thus far, "My Favourite Superhero as a child is not Superman."
Robert is now heading over to Melbourne and taking the 'boys' with him! I do hope they'll behave.

Thanks Robert! I wish you and the boys the best of times in Melbourne! =D

Apparantly it does.
Especially when one has an alarm clock that is not manufactured to include a 'snooze' button (I'm used to having my phone as an alarm clock but due to recent events...). All it can do however, is produce this loud ringing sound, right before i frantically reach for the 'off' button, convincing myself that I have a 'bionic' body clock that would automatically wake me up in another ten minutes.

I wake up, and it is an hour after.

As I sat on the backseat of the taxi, glancing at my watch one second and the taxi meter the next, I listened to the dreaded sound of the meter, happily 'clicking' away, as if teasing me with each and every twenty cent increment to the fare. Annoyed, I sighed, sat back and promised myself, for the fifteenth time (this month) that I would stop contributing to the success of a cab company that has so far been nothing but a detriment to my bank account.

Slowly but SURELY ticking away.

VALENTINES DAY CATALOGUE 2010 (FOR 2011)

I was invited to a 'Singles'/Chinese New Year Party on Valentines day (which just happened to be on a Lunar New Year), hosted by our lovely host and my new friend, Gerald Aw. As I was lazing around of what seems to be a room full of singletons (or not) I just could not help but realise that I have been single for more than a year, added to the fact that I have had only celebrated Valentines day once in my 'I’m-usually-single-when-I’m-not-dating-freaks' life. Had I not searched hard enough to actually find someone to date, long enough to at least last till the next Valentines? (Yeah I know. I sound really romantic right about now).

With the odds of finding love already against us, added to that (with reference to my previous post) ’We’ can't exactly express our interests on a 'love at first sight' encounter on the streets, freely, without having the SLIGHTEST worry of the possibility of being bludgeoned to death, should the person of ‘interest’ turn out to be a homophobe on a witch hunt. With more and more people working longer hours to make ends meet (or to spend it on exorbitantly priced skincare products) who REALLY has time to date? Most importantly, apart from online dating services (an appropriate time to give a shout-out to Fridae, Trevvy and F*REEOOW*Race, HOLLER!) that seems to have taken over the dating world by storm, how and what does one need to do to gain an advantage and stand out from the masses?

Well, in the spirit of being-along-again for Valentines day (and to celebrate our willingness to be exploited and our ongoing compliance in allowing others to continuously capitalise on something as priceless as being in love) I bring to you my latest creation.
