Update: Chris Golightly was disqualified yesterday. “Hollywood Contestant” Samantha Musa called Chris shortly after the show and tweeted.

“Just got off the phone with Chris GoLightly. He was disqualified yesterday, after already being told he was in the top 24, over some bogus old contract. The contract expired, but they disqualified him for not telling them. He is talking to lawyers, but doubt they can do anything.”

American Idol 9 Episode 11 (Part 1): Solo Performances

View Comments
‘Over tanned-over oranged’ Torri Kelly singing Katy Perry's  Hot and Cold, ‘Silver-haired’ Lilly Scott and ‘Pimp-spot/ Possible winner’ Andrew Garcia singing ‘Chasing Pavements”.

‘High-note/(and now) possible-diva’ Jermaine Sellers , otherwise did an awesome rendition of ‘Man in the mirror’, right before ‘throwing the band under the bus’ for screwing up his ending. Gurl. Not good for Team Jermaine.

‘Not-a-button-fan’ Casey James did a pretty good rendition of Colbie Caillat’s ‘Bubbly’ for his solo performance, while ‘Smooth-as-butter’ Jermaine Purifory sings ‘Brick House

(I seriously don’t need to describe her with that name) Siobhan Magnus and ‘Natural-Woman’ Crystal Bowersox , armed with a harmonica, singing Shania Twain’s ‘If it makes you happy’, both rocked out their solo performances.

‘Lucky-named’ Alex Lambert , ‘Over-pimped’ Michael Lynche and ‘Possible-bitch-watch’ Todrick Hall in an ‘I'm Yours’ Medley. Without a doubt, bitch or not, Todrick blew it out of the water with his rendition. In comparison, ‘Over-pimped’ Michael Lynche just looked like Yogi Bear with a guitar.

Sorry Big-Mike Fans.

'Rock-n-Roll-with-a-lil-bit-of-country' Janell Wheeler , singing Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’, which according to Kara was the wrong choice of song.

‘Teenage heartthrob/ Season 9’s Archuleta’ Aaron Kelly ‘choked’ while singing Sarah McLachlan’s ‘Angel’, which was otherwise moving to say the least. Ashley Rodriguez sings Jordin Spark's 'Battlefield', 'Amazing stranger' Lee Dewyze , sings 'You found me' by The Fray , while 'Country-Star-Wannabe' Haeley Vaughn sing's Jason Mraz's 'I'm Yours', which i personally think was sharp and flat at most parts, well, at least those parts that were aired.

American Idol 9 Episode 11: The Top 24 Revealed!

View Comments
Part of the American Idol 9 Top 24 contestants were revealed tonight! Here are the highlights from tonight, or today's (depending on which continent you are located at) episode.

Yes guys. 'Over-pimped Over-backstoried' Michael Lynch made it throught to the top 24. Seriously? I mean SERIOUSLY?
Well, its not that I was surprised anyways.
Congratulations Mike. You (and your whole family) made it through to the Top 24.

"yay."

'Cry cry baby' Didi Benami made it through to the Top 24! Didi was definately a shoo in after her performance last week on Kara Dioguardi's song. Of all the non-surprises this week, this was definately one of the better ones.

'Divorced-parents' Katelyn Epperly is in the Top 24 of American Idol Season 9! Katelyn performed Duffy's Syrup and Honey from her first Round Chicago auditions, getting her golden ticket along with my 'Singing-Canary' Charity Vance (yeah, I'm going to give her a shoutout whenever possible!)

'Not-a-button-fan' Casey James has made it through to the Top 24! Not 'Totally' surprised, but yeah, Simon is probably eating his words from the first round auditions right about now.

'Teen hearthrob (Archuleta of season 9)' Aaron Kelly is in the Top 24 of Season 9!
He climbed his way up singing Miley Cyrus's 'The Climb', and disappeared from our 'Idol-Raydars' ever since. But he is back and in the Top 24!

'Amazing-Stranger' Lee Dewyze is through to the Top 24 of American Idol Season 9!
Lee is officially Season 9's Elliot Yamin! FFing sexy vocals with ffing sexy bedroom eyes! I remembered him best as the 'amazing-stranger' from the Hollywood Group rounds, his first round auditions, not so much though. He's awesome though. Tremendously.

'Possible-bitch-watch' Todrick Hall is in the Top 24!
Well, 'bitch-watch' aside, he's a pretty good singer. I really liked him from the first round auditions, but I'm liking him less and less as the weeks go by. Todrick is losing his appeal, glitter by glitter, sparkle by sparkle. Lets hope he keeps the finger snapping to himself and start bringing out some jazz hands instead.
