KITTRIBUTORS: Kittyeatdog does his weekly idol commentary in 'Hell's Kitchen's' Fashion, talks about Lee Dewyze's 'drunk' performance, 'dead whales', and Michael Lynche's (possible) crossover to the 'other side', while Karanobra sends out PSAs' to Tim Urban and Andrew Garcia, tastes rotten shit, goes to church with Michael Lynche and talks about Mamasox's potential on being the first true-blue singer-songwriter winner.

Lee Dewyze sings The Letter on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night

I always somewhat remember Lee's previous performances, but never really for the vocals. This week is no exception. I like him, but the 'swagger' in his performance that Kara was referring to, just feels a little bit 'drunk' for me. Comparing that to Carly Smithson's and John Michael's version as guest performers on American Idol Season 8, that was definitely   flavorless (and slightly under-garnished). Pretty baby blue eyes though.

Lee was leading the pack this week, but the background singers were leading him, so that led to a lacklustre performance riddled wth what seems like a lack of confidence. I'm beginning to get tired of that Hinder-tone in his voice. I hope he does something exciting very soon. He's cruising.

Paige Miles sings Against All Odds on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

Kittyeatdog says:

Anything worse than Lacey Brown's worst live performance is just, well, bad. The sudden transition from head voice to chest voice shocked the hell out of me. (I watch Idol with headphones) What's worst then being a 'dead whale' in a sea of great performances is being a 'dead whale' in a sea of average performances, and that was definately it.

I just choked on my meatballs and am gasping for air. Waiter! There's a fly in my soup as well.

My oh My Paige, that ain't a park that is the Idol stage, so quit strolling! Where's the challenge? What happened to "make it your own"? It was SO pitchy. It was like a bad taste in the mouth after eating some rotten shit. VERY VERY bad.

Tim Urban sings Crazy Little Thing Called Love on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

Quoted from Kittyeatdog's Kittribution on American Idol Top 16 Performance Night for Tim Urban :

"And for the first time on Idol, Urban hottie sounded ok. I’m definately starting to take two steps forward, onto the plank towards Urban-Cruise, hoping I won’t fall off next week."

I've fallen off, and am as of now, drowning.

My steak is undercooked. Can you send it back to the kitchen please?

Is it me, or am I reading too much into it when Miley Cyrus says "I think you're hot"?! And great, ANOTHER HUG FOR TIM, as if he hasnt had enough from E. Great. Tim should stop getting pimped from all the wrong people. And you know for sure that someone is in trouble when he/she makes his/her way down that moshpit of doom (see Matt Girard last season with The Fray's You Found Me). For a cool rendition of that song, take a note from Fantasia!

Aaron Kelly sings I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

This song has been done so many times (and recently too) on Idol that it had better be amazing whenever a contestant from a new season decides to do it again. Halfway through the song i switched to Siobhan Magnus's 'Paint It Black' from last week.

My Risotto is bland. Can you do something about it please?

That arrangement was just plain weird. The bridge was missing one line. But it was a decent from the Shaker. The first half was very good tough, I thought he was gonna nail that Steve Tyler high register. (and Randy is so emotional tonight!)

Crystal Bowersox sings Me and Bobby McGee on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

That was a perfectly cooked and tender sirloin steak. My taste-buds were jumping out of excitement.

I'm definitely coming back for more. Send my compliments to the chef.

That was exhilarating! That tempo switch in the middle was HOT! Love the carpet too. Mamasox has the potential of being the first true-blue singer-songwriter winner. Keeping my finger crossed.

Michael Lynche sings When a Man Loves a Woman on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

Well, I hate to admit it, but Big Mike is starting to really grow on me. and in Idol history (as far as I'm concerned), I've never 'kinda-like' a contestant that I loathed so much to begin with. If he keeps this up, Big Mike might just get a 'Double-pimped-spot' kitty ranking from me next week.

I don't usually order the fish, but I did it tonight, and it was actually really good.

Gordon Ramsey : "Well done, the scallops!"

Big Mike took the song to the church, but the surmon was bad. It didn't really spell "romantic" for me, which was what he was trying to do obviously: the modern day Al Green that people will make babies to. That's the kind of image he's portraying: that womaniser.
That said, I'm glad he took liberty with it and, to quote Paula (oh those good ol' days),  "coloured up his vocals". I just wished he'd pushed it further.

Andrew Garcia sings I Heard It Through The Grapevine on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

Ok. (Give me a minute to recollect myself)

What the hell just happened?

Gordan Ramsey : God Almighty! (to a chef) What the FU*K are you DOING?? PISS OFF!
Karanobra says:

This is gonna sound nasty, but for me for him, I'm just waiting to see him fall. Bad. Each week is an exercise in cringing to see if he can top the previous week's disaster.
Those notes are too low for him, so much so that it became an awful, AWFUL growl. There was absolutely no challenge to that at all. AT ALL. NOT PUSHING IT. URGH.

If I could say something to him, it'd be: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! Please take a lesson from the Fantasia Guidebook To Adding Your  Own Flavour To The Song. Cos when 'Tasia did that song, she killed it. I could really hear it through the grapevine.
And seriously, you pick songs to "have fun"!?!?!?! Try doing that at home and spare us the agony of seeing you have fun, cos that was painful to watch. This PSA goes out to Tim and whoever it is that said the reason for their song choice is to have fun. THAT IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO SUCK.

Katie Stevens sings Big Girls Don’t Cry on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

Katie's performance this week was like eating cup noodles in a 5 star restaurant, after having been starved for 3 days. It wasn't great, but you're just so thankful that there just something there which wasn't horrid.

She seemed like she's struggling with the song. The chorus was one-note for me. I agree that it's her best song choice to date. And I understand what Simon meant when she can go the country way. But anyway, her Dad is in shorts again. Disturbing leg hair.

Casey James sings Power of Love on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

Another Risotto that is plated really nicely; plate sides wiped clean, nice texture, not too watery, not to hard, but when you taste it, it's bland.
Really bland.
Karanobra says:

Seriously Ryan, "our rocker"?! The only thing rock about Casey is his greasy hair and those cleavage. Nonetheless, it was IMO his best performance, even though that grin while he was singing made him look too non-committal.

Didi Benami sings You’re No Good on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

Kittyeatdog says:

This was probably one of my favorite performances of this week, based solely on the song itself. It was groovy, playful, cool and something I could listen to on repeat, for hours. Having said that, this was one of the hardest performances for me to get a 'pretty' video-still of. Didi fans, sorry, i tried but this was the best image i could get.

Gordon Ramsey : (to a chief) You DOnkey! The food's all cooked perfectly, but the plates all ice cold! Take a walk and lose some weight!
Karanobra says:

LOVE love love that sass! It was abit tacky I must say, but I sorta love it. If looks can kill she'd have massacred us.

Siobhan Magnus sings Superstition on American Idol 9 Top 11 Performance Night.

Kittyeatdog says:

Without question, one of the top two performances of the night. And note to Simon : The screaming was in tune.

Gordon Ramsey : (to a chef)
Very nice the Wellington!

Miley Meets Siobhan. On paper, that sounds like a great idea for an episode of The Office. The commercial meeting the semi-gothic edgy one with ginormous spider necklace and skull tee. But I'm diappointed there wasnt any ROFLOL moments. boringgggggg
and yes, THAT NOTE! AGAIN! Today she was a graceful lady working the crowd. Good improvement though. Best line of the night: "More Please!" I'm glad at least Ellen is hilarious
