Oven Baked Island Roasted to Perfection. (A Kittyeatdog American Idol Commentary Prequel, Well, As Intended To Anyways)

If like me, you've been living in a little red dot on the map called 'Singapore', an island, less than 100 miles North of the equator, chances are, your tolerance level for even the slightest tardy bus driver has been less forgiving than usual. With a temperature reaching a high of 36 degrees Celsius, for the past few weeks at least, the 'red dot' has finally found its one true meaning: A small island filled with angry, hot and burning people.

Although I suspect it to be a result of global warming, part of me believes it to be Zeus's doing, even more so after spending one hundred and six minutes last weekend watching a documentary in the cinema titled 'Clash of the Titans.' which had significantly reduced my believe in science by at least 5 degrees Celsius. Yes I know. The heatwave is getting to me.

These past few weeks, I break a sweat by merely blinking, and a few more droplets shortly after, just with the realization of breaking a sweat, by blinking. Its an uncomfortable, never ending cycle. Understandably, I am more angsty than usual. Buses in Singapore, most of which are air-conditioned, are now being viewed as a daily godsends : Red 'parcels' filled with 'juicy' blasts of cool air on the inside, circling around this oven-baked island, preheated at 500 degrees, meant to bake till crunchy, flaky and even slightly burnt. With these godsend-SBS buses however, great power does not only come with great responsibility, but is also served with tardiness at its side, without the complimentary ice cold glass of water.

Yes. Just include the Evian on the bill.

Alas, once again, like a true Gemini, one who hadn't had any but two hours of sleep the night before and who is now solely functioning on five cups of coffee in a time span of four hours, I have strayed away (yet again) from the originally intended American Idol commentary post. Just for this week, ode to the laughter and joy this 'fantastic' smiling yet scorching sun brings, Kittyeatdog brings you your weekly American Idol commentary,'sunny-side-up'.

Fry away.
