I'm just puzzled over one thing on American Idol 9 this week. If they wasted the supposedly 'COVETED' Judges-save on Micheal Lynche, why didn't they just used it on Didi Benami, Lacey Brown or Paige Miles?
Can someone please shed some light into this please.

Lacey's voice was weak, she got a lot farther then she should have. Didi was very lackluster and monotone. At one time I could have seen it being used on Paige, but her song selection, and her brutal last few weeks in the competition did her in. Michael Lynche has been solid week in and week out. There is no way he should be going home yet
ReplyDeleteI have to agree on Lacey and Paige. I'm not very sure about Didi. I mean as far as 'being current' I thought Didi has much more potential. Its just a pity that she sucked at song choices and dropped the 'singer-songwriter' cloak, cause i think that is where her strength and believability lies.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that her last performance was pretty disastrous as far as i'm concerned.
Big Mike however, as much as i think i might like him in person, just does not sound current to me. I like him prolly for the competition but not otherwise.
But like I said, thats just my opinion.

I was never a huge Didi fan, and most of the people I talked to just liked her because she was pretty. When it came right down to it, she is just out of her league here. I do agree also with the judges that Didi lost her way, and started to sell out, and the fans she did have abandoned her. I think Big Mike will rebound next week. I half think that sometimes people assume a certain contestant is so safe, that they use their vote on someone else to help them out and keep them in the game.

I agree with grey74, Lacey and Paige were very weak singers. Didi on the other hand.. i liked her at 1st but as grey74 said, she lost her way. Her last performances weren't really like her, but even though i was a little sad when she was eliminated.
ReplyDeleteI love Mike, i think he's one of the best singers of this season. Yes, he sings a little like what you might have heard 30-40 years ago, but still, he's got one of the best voices.
IMO, the person who should have gone out WEEKS ago is Tim. He hasn't been consistent, he doesn't have a great voice, and (this is just MY OPINION) he's smile is just annoying.
Hehe but anyway, i hope that, as Simon said last week (I think), this remains a TALENT competition instead of a POPULARITY competition ^-^
Ok Simon said that in season 7 LOL! He told that to David Cook when he sang Eleanor Rigby =) (and for some weird reason that's the same song Big Mike sang this week o.O)

ReplyDeleteFirst let me say that i'm sorry it took me so long to answer, i've been a bit busy with my classes and all u.u
Now, i LOVE season 7, IMO, it's been THE BEST season EVER! All of them were AWESOME!! =D
Hehehe from THAT week, i loved almost all of them, Lee Dewyze has been my fave since the 1st time i heard him sing (i don't care what anyone says, i liked the guy with the instrument, i don't know how it's called, when he sang Hey Jude ^-^).
Casey James is another one of my faves, though i rather him singing country instead of rock. It suits it better to his voice =)
Michael Lynche, as i said up there, has a great voice, but i rather him singing slow songs, they're better for his voice too ^-^
Siobhan Magnus... damn she''s awesome and one of my faves but lately i don't know what's happened to her =(
Aaron Kelly... I LOVE HIM!! Hehe he's AWESOME and he ALWAYS sings GREAT!!! <3 ^-^
From Andrew Garcia i liked that he changed the songs and always gave them his own personal touch. But with his voice, he wasn't that great =/
