Its 5 20, on a late Friday afternoon and I am half an hour away from my weekly Alcoholic Anonymous gathering of fellow tards and 6 rounds of vodkatinis. My mind has been circling the whole day from the extreme craving, only an alcoholic would understand. Once again, I've been pumping my blood with coffee since my first meal of Protein shakes and although ten hours down the road, after a good 7 cups of coffee, I'm still very much half asleep.
But as an American Idol Fantard, I shall persist, yet at the same time, keeping it real (Yes. It's Randy Jackson's Line) With that, the Kittributors commentary of American Idol 9, Top 9, this time slighty tipsy and singing along.
En(hic!)joy.
NOTE: Since Adam Lambert mentored this week, Karanobra posted a shoutout regarding its mad love for Mr Lambert and apologised profusedly on not being able to attend his gig while he was in Singapore. Karanobra also mentioned that it would love to do it's hair like his (Adam's) and has mad love for his honesty and constructive comments. As an end note to this note, I'll just let Karanobra do the talking.
" I LOVE YOU. WHAT A STAGE! ITS ONLY FIT FOR ADAM"
With that, lets get down to business.
Crystal Bowersox sings Saved on American Idol 9 Top 9 Performance Night.
Kittyeatdog says : She eased my heart, she eased my mind. She makes me wanna move my shoes and see what I can find. She makes me wanna stand up tall and open up my eyes and reach out my hand until I touch the skies. She's saved. You know she's saved. And yes. She's saved. | Gingercakes says : Well i dunno, being true to my intuition here, I never got her appeal. Perhaps it's because I've seen too many pictures of buskers in the subway and she *still* looks like one of them. Does being true to yerself here, mean that you should always dress like a beggar? Does she really have to prove her busker's 'cred' by playing with a guitar held together by glitter glue? | Opening the show is tough, and singing a song called "Saved" can be very very ironic should she be eliminated tomorrow. No one is safe now that the judges wasted their save on Mike. I worry for her tonight, coming up against all the pretty male faces. That said, she was never in the bottom 3, and the vocals were stunning as usual tonight so I hope she is safe. I wised the outfit had been more dramatic though. Randy calling her the second-coming of Bonnie Raitt might be a little blasphemous and early, but I see where he's coming from. Props to Simon for warning us it's gonna be a night of karaoke. Great way to dampen us after Crytal wowed us. |
Andrew Garcia sings Hound Dog on American Idol 9 Top 9 Performance Night.
Kittyeatdog says : When they said you was high classed, well that was just a lie. When they said you was high classed, well, that was just a lie. You ain't never had a great performance and you ain't no friend of mine. | Gingercakes says : Really bad, in a paws-over-face-embarrassing kinda way. When simon said it was "lazy", I meowed in agreement. Bad elvis impersonation. He also looked like he's gonna breakdown from all the stress. Might as well go home then! | Garfield did a B.O.R.I.N.G. rendition of Hound Dog. It was worse than any dog I've seen, and YAY! CHEERS TO ADAM FOR CALLING HIM BORING! HI-5! It is such an energetic song but he sucked the life out of it by dragging the end of every single line. It's so tough to hear I almost miss Sanjaya. At least he had more exciting hair. Kara, nice mic-crutch metaphor. That arrangement was just blah-ringly LIMP. |
Tim Urban sings Can't Help Falling In Love on American Idol 9 Top 10 Performance Night.
Kittyeatdog says : Wise men say, only fools rush into the competition with big 'moments' and sucked afterwards. But I can't help falling in love with you. Shall I vote for you? Would it be a sin? But I just can't help falling in love with you. | Gingercakes says : Looks like he didn't take Adam's advice to end the song in a vulnerable falsetto hmm? Slap in the face for Adam, but nice job there. He's got me listening, and I wonder how many more rabbits he can pull out of his hat. I mean, you do have more tricks up your sleeve right, tim? | That was the best vocals I've heard from Tim, EVER. That switch in the second half gave me goosebumps and almost brought me to tears. WHO KNEW! PROPS to Adam of course. lol That said, it wasn't the best vocals; it was pitchy in parts. And looking back, he is not a good singer, but just a passable on that made smart, probably calculated moves that puts him in advantage. I hate to say this, but I think he might stay for 1 more week. and that TURBAN comment got me ROFLOL! |
Kittyeatdog says : A Little less conversation a little more action please? All these comments from the judges from previous weeks about how great you are ain't satisfactioning me. A little more bite and a little less bark, a little less fight and a little more spark. And Lee, Like how you did it this week, you satisfied me. You satisfied me baby. | Gingercakes says : Radio sound means he's gonna be in the top 2, and could possibly win this. We've got our favorites but being objective here, y'know i'm right y'all! | Lee totally upstaged Tim before with a great example of GOOD SINGING. I LOVE TIM. The acoustic first half was genius, and once again I wished he'd do a song totally acoustic with just a guitar in hand. He has a knack for making the song's lyrics heard, and this time I gained an added perspective to the Elvis classic. Kitty shoutout from Simon! YAY! |
Aaron Kelly sings Blue Suede Shoes on American Idol 9 Top 9 Performance Night.
Kittyeatdog says : Well, it's one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready. Now go Aaron go. But don't step on my blue suede shoes. You can try to dance but lay off of my blue suede shoes. Well, you can have Adam Lambert as your mentor, wear a new jacket, try to dance around all over the place. Do any song that you want to do but uh-uh, Honey, lay off of my shoes. Don't you step on my blue suede shoes. You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes. | Gingercakes says : Fwoar! What happened to this kid overnight??! Looks like Adam Lambert has been dishing out some fashion advice. He's always got a man's gruff about his strut and sound, doesn't he? | Danger zoneee!!! But I really really loved his swagger tonight! The way he was sashaying on stage propably covered up his awkward dance moves, maybe that's why I liked it. I wish he would have been more energetic, and though I agree with Simon on his performance, what I liked was how he stepped out of his comfort zone and did something that was different from what he has been doing. Aaron always felt like the oddball out of all the others, maybe it's his age, or maybe it's his style. I thought with this performance, he finally got my attention, and though it might confuse the people who liked him before, it also converted a few, me included. |
Siobhan Magnus sings Suspicious Minds on American Idol 9 Top 9 Performance Night.
Kittyeatdog says : I'm caught in a trap. I can't walk out. Because I love you too much baby.. Why can't you see, what you're doing to me.. You can see these tears are real. I'm crying. Oh let our love survive Or dry the tears from your eyes Lets don't let a good thing die. And yes. I agree with you Siobhan. I don't believe in labels either. | Gingercakes says : After tonight, i forgot why i liked her in the first place. Hear the gasps!! The horror!! A change of heart, Gingercakes. Something about her being so defensive towards the judges isn't quite as appealing as her dorky wha--...whats-going-on-... persona. I'm getting tired of the screaming too :( (Gets a Kitty scratch from Kittyeatdog) | Those vocals are hot! But the intro was blah only. I was never a big fan of her low tone. I LOVEEE what she said to Simon, which totally left him speechless and debunked everything Simon had said. It's also very true: too often we pigeon-hole a contestant to what we want to hear (just see Katie, who is trying to please the judges, instead of really picking the songs that she wants to sing. See fellow identity-crisis contestants like Lil Rounds). For those without a true musical sense or what kind of music they want to do, yes you need to find your ground before the audience can like you. But for Siobhan, who came across like a true lover of all genre of music, it's hard to stereotype her into doing a particular kind. So how do we maintain a balance between total freeplay from the contestants, and not being crippling to their artistic growth? After babbling, I just want to say I totally agree with her and adore her. period. |
Kittyeatdog says : People, don't you understand. This guy needs a helping hand. Or hell grow to be an angry young man and crush the judges for not saving him. Take a look at you and me, Are we too blind to see, Do we simply turn our heads, And look the other way, He'll never win. | Gingercakes says : Whoa, I'm feeling all the daddygonnamakesurenoonehurtsyou vibe. But he can't possibly win. right? | I can't blame him, cause it's the judges who made the foolish decision which puts people like Mamasox and Lee at risk. But i cant over the fact that I don't really like him. Props to the minimal arrangement, but it seems like he's using too much force at parts. It's only aight for me, so it puzzles me why Adam gave him a standing O. Well, since Adam liked it, i'll upgrade my grade from "Snoozer". |
Kittyeatdog says : You've got me runnin' You've got me hidin' You've got me run, hide, hide, run. Anyway you wanna let it roll. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But Baby what you want me to do? Listen to you? | Gingercakes says : She bores me to death. girl, you gotta do something about the pudge. | That irritating head bob was either stolen from Carrie Underwood, or Kara-ontheradio-Dioguardi. I was speechless, because that performance was so tasteless it left me dazed and confused. And Katie, never NEVER beg for votes. |
Kittyeatdog says : Casey: Well lawdy, lawdy, lawdy Miss Claudy, You sure look good to me, but please don't excite me baby, I know it can't be me. Kittyeatdog: (nods) Oh gonna tell, tell my mama. Lord I swear what you been to me. I'm gonna tell everybody that listening to you this week brings me down in misery. So bye, bye, bye, baby. I won't be comin' no more. Goodbye Casey James, down the road I'll go. | Gingercakes says : He shaved. Still, he does nothing for me. I think I've got it down pat tonight: his sound isn't exceptional. | The pit of doom is indeed cursed. Other than the pulled-back hair, I like the blues feel to the song, but the vocals were only ok. And Ryan only prompted "Casey fans" to vote. So if he got voted out, we can only now blame Ryan for not giving a shoutout to non-Casey fans who liked his singing, or those who are still sitting on the fence about him. |
LLLLOL! - "Gets a Kitty scratch from Kittyeatdog."

ReplyDeleteThis thing is Crystal Bowersox's competition to lose. Sometimes I wonder if she is better off not winning it though. I see Lee, Mike, and Casey being the runner ups with Aaron rounding out the top 5. Tim.....what more can I say, very nice kid, but honestly he should have been beat night 1 of the top 24 2 months ago. Siobhan....been on my nerves more and more. Sh has gone from tolerable, to annoying, to I really want to reach for the mute button.
ReplyDelete@ Kittyeatdog: En(hic)joy! haha. thats funny!
ReplyDeleteAre the kittributors real people? Lol. can i become a kittributor for a week? I'm just wondering.
@grey74: Siobhan was not that bad!!
